Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match started almost two hours after the scheduled start and was cut short to 14-overs per-side contest.
PBKS skipper Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. He reasoned rain and dewy conditions as the reason behind him opting to bowl first. His bowlers did not let him down as they restricted RCB to 95/9 in their 14 overs. PBKS now need 96 runs to win back to back games this season.
In a bid to score quick runs, RCB lost wickets at regular intervals right from the first over. Phil Salt (4 runs off 4 balls) and Virat Kohli (1 run of 3 balls) were dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in back to back overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal Triggers RCB Batting Collapse At Chinnaswamy
The introduction of Yuzvendra Chahal in the seventh over further pegged back RCB in their innings. He took two wickets for 11 runs, dismissing Jitesh Sharma (2 runs off 7 balls) and RCB skipper Rajat Patidar (23 runs off 18 balls).
Along with Chahal, Arshdeep Singh (2 wickets for 23 runs), Marco Jansen (2 wickets for 10 runs) and Harpreet Brar (2 wickets for 4 runs) stood out with the ball. The fielders backed up the bowlers with some good ground fielding and some incredible catching. Iyer as the skipper rotated his bowlers brilliantly and it was Chahal's spell that triggered a batting collapse from RCB. Chahal after taking just two wickets in his first five games has now taken six in his next two games.
Tim David (50* runs off 26 balls) was the only RCB batter who understood the pitch conditions at the Chinnaswamy. The PBKS bowlers bowled a good length and RCB batters with an intent to score quick runs, played the wrong shot to get themselves dismissed. The hard-hitter played a few lusty blows to get RCB close to the 100-run mark. Harpreet Brar's no-ball off the final delivery helped Tim David score his maiden IPL fifty as RCB finished on 95 runs for nine wickets after 14 overs.
