Former Australian cricketer David Warner's no-holds-barred approach has gone viral a lot of times, and it yet again came to the forefront during his first press conference as Karachi Kings (KRK) skipper ahead of their first game in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) season. The southpaw was bemused by a Pakistani reporter's claim about "Indian trolling."
The opener joined the PSL after going unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) mega auction. Rubbing salt into the wounds, the Pakistani journalist questioned Warner about the backlash from the passionate Indian fans. The reporter claimed that many fans from the neighboring country had trolled the former Aussie player for opting to play PSL and asked for his response to the trolls and hate he received on social media.

The 38-year-old was taken aback by the question and confidently clarified that this was the first time he had heard of such nasty criticism.
“This is the first I’ve heard of it. From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There’s an opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar didn’t allow me to come to PSL due to the timings. Now, I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully we are able to win the trophy,” Warner was quoted as saying.
David Warner aims to replicate his IPL success in PSL 2025 season
After retiring in 2024, Warner is currently playing in T20 leagues across the globe. The southpaw is still one of the game's most fearsome batters in the shortest format. It was in T20 cricket that Warner made a name for himself while playing IPL for the first time in 2009. The 38-year-old still holds the record of being the most successful overseas batter in the tournament's history, with 6,565 runs in 184 innings.
He featured for DC and SRH in the IPL. His most memorable moment came in the IPL 2016 final when he led SRH to an epic win against RCB. Warner also captained DC in the IPL 2023 season when Rishabh Pant was absent due to recovering from a car crash injury.
