ENG vs IND: Shubman Gill Clears Air on Jasprit Bumrah’s Participation in Edgbaston Test

Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the second Test against England in Edgbaston, was seen having a good time off the field. Not only that, the premier pacer was also seen roasting skipper Shubman Gill after India's emphatic 336-run win over the hosts.

In a video posted by the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium, the pacer was seen trolling Gill. For the unversed, before the start of Day Five of the second Test, the Indian skipper was spotted rolling his arm over. After watching Gill Bowl, Bumrah said: "Cut pe cut kha raha that World Cup mein. (He was continuously being cut by the batter in the ODI World Cup 2023)."

The Indian pacer was referring to the World Cup event, where in the group game against the Netherlands, skipper Rohit Sharma had asked Gill to bowl a few overs. The 25-year-old bowled only two overs during that game without having any success. His figures read 2-0-11-0.

"Ban hee ho gaya use baad (He was banned after bowling that)," said Bumrah.

Shubman Gill says yes to a question on Jasprit Bumrah playing the Lord's Test

Speaking about Jasprit Bumrah, skipper Gill answered Nasser Hussain at the post-match press conference that the pacer will definitely play the third Test at Lord's. Due to workload management, the fast bowler was rested for the second Test in Edgbaston. Luckily, his absence was not sorely missed as Akash Deep and Siraj delivered a terrific bowling performance to help the team level the five-match Test series 1-1.
